Grant Community High School District 124 recently issued the following announcement.
We know it has been a while since Freshman orientation and since you will be coming onto campus the week of October 19th, we wanted to extend an opportunity for you to tour the campus before your assigned Blended Learning day. On Saturday, October 17, we will be hosting a Freshman Open House for all Freshman and new students that opted-in for Phase 1 of Blended Learning.
From 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, students will have access to hallways and common areas in order to find their classrooms, follow their schedule, and become familiar with the common areas on campus. There is no pre-registration or sign-up necessary to attend.
There will be paper copies of schedules available upon request, but we encourage all students either print their schedule out ahead of time or have a digital copy of their schedule. Student schedules can be located within Skyward. Although this is a time for students to tour the campus before starting Blended Learning, parents are more than welcomed to attend. However, to keep the number of people in the building to a minimum, each student will be limited to one parent/guardian.
When you arrive on campus for your tour, please remember that masks are required and must be worn at all times when on campus. Before entering the building, all students and parents must go through a health check and are asked to maintain proper social distancing throughout the tour.

Sabemos que ha pasado mucho tiempo desde la orientación para alumnos de primer año y, como vendrán al campus la semana del 19 de octubre, queríamos darles la oportunidad de recorrer el campus antes del día de aprendizaje combinado asignado. El sábado, 17 de octubre, tendremos las puertas abiertas para todos los estudiantes de primer año y los nuevos estudiantes que hayan optado por participar en la fase 1 de aprendizaje combinado.
De 10:00 a. m. a 12:00 p. m., los estudiantes tendrán acceso a los pasillos y áreas comunes para encontrar sus aulas, seguir su horario y familiarizarse con las áreas comunes del campus. No es necesario registrarse o inscribirse para asistir.
Habrá copias en papel de los horarios disponibles bajo pedido, pero recomendamos a todos los estudiantes que impriman su horario con anticipación o que tengan una copia digital de este. Los horarios de los estudiantes se pueden encontrar en Skyward. Aunque este es un momento para que los estudiantes recorran el campus antes de comenzar el aprendizaje combinado, los padres son más que bienvenidos a asistir. Sin embargo, para que haya la menor cantidad posible de gente en la escuela, se limitarán los acompañantes a un padre o un tutor por estudiante.
Cuando lleguen al campus para hacer el recorrido, no olviden que el uso de las mascarillas es obligatorio en todo momento. Antes de entrar en el edificio, todos los estudiantes y padres deben pasar por un control de salud, y deben mantener un distanciamiento social adecuado durante el recorrido.
