City of Lake Forest Historic Preservation Commission Will Meet October 28

City of Lake Forest Historic Preservation Commission will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 28.

Here is the agenda provided by the commission:

This meeting will be conducted remotely in compliance with Governor’s Executive Order 2020- 07, issued on March 16, 2020 that suspended certain Open Meetings Act provisions relating to in-person attendance by members of a public body. The Governor’s Order: (1) suspends the requirement in Section 2.01 that “members of a public body must be physically present;” and (2) suspends the limitations in Section 7 on when remote participation is allowed. Information on each of the petitions to be heard is available on the City’s website or by contacting the Community Development Department at 847-810-3520. Members of the public who wish to comment on a petition are encouraged to submit written comments in advance of the meeting to baehrj@cityoflakeforest.com Members of the public who wish to comment during the meeting will have the opportunity to do so by calling 847-810-3643. City staff will be on site at the City’s Municipal Services Facility during the meeting however, the Commissioners will all participate remotely.

1. Introduction of Commissioners and staff and overview of meeting procedures – Chairman Grieve

2. Consideration of the minutes of the September 14, 2020 meeting of the Commission.

3. Lake Forest Preservation Foundation Awards – Presented by: Video by Laura Luce

4. Continued consideration of a request for approval of a Certificate of Appropriateness for the demolition of the existing residence at 259 Mayflower Road. No replacement structure is proposed.

5. Continued consideration of a request for approval of a Certificate of Appropriateness for a new residence on a vacant lot located at 774 Washington Road. The Commission will also consider the associated site plan, tree removal and the landscape plan. Property Owners: George and Mary Sperzel

6. Consideration of a request for approval of a Certificate of Appropriateness for the construction of a detached, three car garage and a two-story rear addition and exterior alterations to the existing residence located at 420 Washington Road.
