Village of Bannockburn Architectural Review Commission met March 9.

Here are the minutes provided by the commission:

1. Call to Order. Chairman Dan Cvejic called the special joint meeting of the Architectural Review Commission (ARC) and Plan Commission Zoning Board of Appeals (PCZBA) to order at 7:01PM.

Commissioners Present: David Friedman Vicki Martin, Robert Rock

Commissioners Absent: Theresa Zagnoli

Also Present: Assistant Village Manager Ryan Mentkowski, Plan Commission Zoning Board of Appeals Members

Visitors Present: Mim Evans (Northern Illinois University Center for Governmental Studies)

2. 02-03/09: Discussion Related to the Strategic Plan and Comprehensive Plan Update. Mim Evans, on behalf of the Northern Illinois University Center for Governmental Studies and a consultant working for the Village of Bannockburn facilitated discussion with the Joint ARC and PCZBA related to gaining comments about the update to the Comprehensive Master Plan.

One or more of the Commissioners discussed the following topics:

∙ Dead trees in the Village, future tree planting plans and landscape bufferyards;

∙ Suggested future updates of the comprehensive master plan document;

∙ The amount of lighting that is permitted to be installed within the Village;

∙ Walkability within the Village of Bannockburn;

∙ Future areas of possible development in and around Bannockburn and types of uses that could be targeted;

∙ Bannockburn Green Retail center development;

∙ Appropriateness of accessory dwelling units / mother-in-law suites as allowable uses in the Village;

∙ Lot sizes in the residential zoning district;

∙ Special Service Area fees now and in the future;

∙ Importance of Trinity International University to the Village of Bannockburn;

∙ Understanding the storm water impacts on properties with the increased number of intense rainfall events; and

∙ Sound impacts with the updated traffic that is coming from the trains.

No action was taken on this item.

Adjournment

Commissioner Martin moved, seconded by Commissioner Rock, to adjourn the special joint meeting of the Architectural Review Commission. On a roll call vote, the motion was approved. Ayes: Four (Cvejic, Friedman, Martin, Rock); Nays: None; Abstain: None; Absent: One (Zagnoli).

The meeting was adjourned at 8:32 PM.
