State Rep. Chris Bos (R-Lake Zurich) was appointed to the Ensuring Success in School Task Force aimed at supporting students who are pregnant, parents, or victims of sexual or domestic violence. The task force will also provide additional rights, services and education options to these students.
“This legislation will improve our education system in Illinois to help ensure that every student no matter their circumstances are protected and have the necessary resources they need to succeed,” Bos said. “The task force will take it a step further to assess what else we can do to set our students in Illinois up for future success.”
Republican state Rep. Jim Durkin appointed Bos to the 21-person task force.
“Representative Bos has the best skillset to make this task force productive and make a difference in our state’s larger education system for those students most at risk,” Durkin said.
The high school graduation rate of Illinois students who began ninth grade in the 2017-2018 school year was 86.8%, according to Illinois Report Card.
