Update and discussion regarding the State of Illinois 2022 Legislative Sessions.

Discussion and possible action regarding additional items of consideration to be included in Lake County’s FY2023 Legislative Program.

∙ Over the previous two Legislative Committee meetings, the Committee has received presentations and discussions related to items for potential inclusion the County’s FY2023 Legislative Program.

∙ Staff will present any additional items for discussion and possible inclusion in the County’s program.

∙ In addition, at the Committee’s September 6, 2022 meeting, an item related to the Public Works Director position that had not been previously included in the County’s program was discussed. A draft has been developed and will be reviewed with Committee for direction on possible inclusion in the County’s FY2023 Legislative Program.

Resolution approving the Lake County Fiscal Year 2023 Legislative Agenda.

∙ Annually, Lake County develops a list of legislative priorities that are submitted to our State Legislators.

∙ The County’s 2023 Legislative Agenda includes items for sponsorship, and items of support during the upcoming sessions. The Agenda also includes topics of importance for Lake County.

∙ Items were solicited from department heads and elected officials. All items were reviewed and discussed by the County’s lobbyist and the Legislative Committee for discussion and inclusion.
