State Senate Minority Leader Dan McConchie (R-Hawthorn Woods) announced that he has been endorsed by the Illinois Farm Bureau and the Lake County Farm Bureau, and that he has also won the support of the Illinois Manufacturers' Association.
"Agriculture makes up a huge sector of Illinois's economy and impacts our daily lives from the food we eat to the fuel in our cars," McConchie said in a Thursday Facebook post. "I am proud to have the endorsement of the Illinois Farm Bureau and Lake County Farm Bureau and will continue to support policies that allow our farmers to thrive."
The senator said in a Wednesday Facebook post, "Proud to have the support of the Illinois Manufacturers' Association! I will continue to advocate for policies that attract manufacturing jobs to Illinois instead of forcing them out."
McConchie was first elected to the state senate to represent the 26th District in 2016, a Ballotpedia report said. He was elected Senate minority leader in 2020. He is a member of the Senate Executive Committee and the Redistricting Committee. McConchie will face Democratic challenger Maria Peterson in the upcoming election.
The Illinois Manufacturers' Association is a trade association whose members collectively employ almost 600,000 people across the state, producing more than $300 billion in economic output; its website said.
The Illinois Farm Bureau was established in 1916 to support the state's farmers and promote legislation that benefits the agricultural community, its website said. Three out of every four farmers in Illinois are voting members of the IFB.
