McCormick: ‘At Lake Forest High School (IL) it has been reported there is allegedly what the students are calling a ‘gay room’’

Lake Forest High School is reportedly hosting a so-called ‘gay room’ in which LGBT students and staff have allegedly been convening in private during school hours.

“At Lake Forest High School (IL) it has been reported there is allegedly what the students are calling a “gay room”- some type of private staff-student LGBTQ club.”

“They are keeping the door shut and when pressed for information, telling other students it’s a ‘study hall,’” Frank McCormick posted on Twitter.

McCormick linked to a video of a student who was turned away from the room.

“Mind if I ask, what’s going on in there?” a student asked. the room asks another student entering the room.

“Study hall” the other student answers as she enters the room.

“Study hall?” the student filming the room asks.

“You need something?” a teacher asks the student who is filming.

“No, I’m just looking around,” the student doing the filming responds.

Lake Forest High School launched an Alliance meeting last year.

“Alliance is the sexuality & gender equality group at @LFHS_LakeForest. We provide a fun, safe, and welcoming place for LGBTQ+ students and their allies. The first Alliance meeting of the year is Thursday, September 2 at 3:30 in room 364. #lfleadstheway #allineveryday," the LFHS Alliance said in a tweet.

McCormick is a former Waukegan Public Schools employee who notably publicly ripped his school board and administration for blaming poor performance scores on race-based indicators.

“Suddenly, this is no longer about her incompetence, but the ghosts of implicit bias and racism haunting our schools, which she will now exorcise through diversity, equity and inclusion rights that will cost the district millions,” McCormick said in a speech to the school board.

“The narrative she has seized upon has emboldened the ideological infiltration of critical theories into the district and classroom.”
