State Senator Dan McConchie (R-Hawthorn Woods) is calling on the community to participate in his annual Valentines for Seniors Program, aimed at uplifting the spirits of seniors during the Valentine's Day season. Speaking about the initiative, Sen. McConchie said, "I need your help to ensure that our seniors feel remembered and valued this Valentine's Day. My goal is to remind them that they are cared for and that people think of them. If you take a few minutes of your day to create a card, you will help spread love and joy to those needing it most."
Sen. McConchie is urging churches, schools, and community members within the 26th Senate District to contribute by writing Valentine's Day cards. These cards can be dropped off or mailed to his district office. Once collected, the cards will be personally delivered to long-term care facilities within the district.
Participants are encouraged to unleash their creativity when making the cards. The cards can include hand-made creations, encouraging notes, uplifting messages, or drawings. The collection of Valentine's Day cards will be open until February 5th. Those interested in participating can either mail their cards or drop them off at Sen. McConchie's office located at 795 Ela Rd., Suite 208, Lake Zurich, IL 60047.
Sen. McConchie assures that all the cards will be handled with care and delivered to brighten the day of seniors in long-term care facilities. To facilitate the drop-off process, there is a marked mailbox on the 2nd floor outside the Lake Zurich office door.
For further information or any questions regarding the program, participants can reach out to Joe Morano at Jmorano@sgop.ilga.gov.
This initiative by Senator McConchie serves as a compassionate way to show love and support to the elderly members of the community during the Valentine's Day season. By taking a few moments to create a card, individuals can make a significant difference in the lives of seniors and remind them that they are cherished and remembered.
