Deerpath Community Park in Lake Forest has unveiled eight new pickleball courts. The park held demonstrations of the game during its showcase on Saturday.

The Lake Forest Parks & Recreation Department issued a cautionary note on their Facebook page, saying, "Heads up! The freshly painted court surface may be slippery due to the rain, so please be careful."

According to the Parks & Recreation Department's website, open play was initially slated for May, although this is subject to change. The courts are accessible from dawn until dusk unless otherwise specified.

The department also offers indoor six-week classes at the Recreation Center for players ranging from beginners to advanced levels. As per the Parks & Recreation Department website, these classes include "Learn to Play Pickleball", "Drills, Drills, Drills", "Beginner Game Play with Strategy", "Intermediate Game Play with Strategy", and "Advanced Game Play with Strategy".

The Parks & Recreation Department website indicates that Deerpath Community Park is located at 400 Hastings Road. Other parks with tennis/pickleball combo courts include Everett Park at 1191 Everett School Road, South Park at 150 S. Maywood Road, and Waveland Park at 600 South Waveland Road; each offering two and three courts respectively.
