Lake Forest podcast host: ‘Either something is going on, or there’s incompetence’

Pete Jansons, Lake Forest podcast host, said that relying on only 43 people for decision-making might not accurately represent the city's wants and needs. Joe Weiss, Lake Forest podcast host, said potential volunteers are discouraged by the complexities and negativity involved, further limiting representation.

“It’s one of two things, and neither of these two things is good,” host Jansons told host Weiss on the Lake Forest podcast. “It’s either something is going on, or there’s incompetence, and we’re relying on 43 people, which is very hard to get because now the brand is even. Would you want to volunteer? You would, but when you hear all this crap."

“You’re right, the caucuses here, look, you have to make tough decisions when you’re in a position of authority,” said host Weiss. “when you get into this whole neighbor versus neighbor thing and all the crazy stuff on social media now and stuff, a lot of good people are like, 'Thanks, but no thanks. I’ll volunteer at the church.' If you want to have a representation of the city’s wants and needs, 257 people don’t represent it.”
