The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) has commenced a study for improvements to Rollins Road in Fox Lake and is seeking public input. The study aims to enhance safety, capacity, and non-motorized travel on a 1.7-mile stretch of Rollins Road from Grand Avenue to Washington Avenue.

Proposed improvements include expanding the road to feature a consistent turn lane running down the center, adding new sidewalks and paths, and improving drainage along the roadway. According to LCDOT, "Your ideas and suggestions will help guide us through this study." The project is currently in its early phases with construction targeted for 2028, pending funding, project readiness, and land acquisition.

To facilitate public input, LCDOT has created a virtual forum where residents can share their ideas and questions until July 1, 2024. The interactive comment map allows users to provide exact locations for their input. All feedback submitted through the website will be directed to the project study team.

Additional methods for providing input include:

- Email: DOT@lakecountyil.gov

- Mailing: Lake County Division of Transportation, 600 W. Winchester Road, Libertyville, IL 60048

- Calling: 847-377-7400

LCDOT emphasizes that this project will involve several years of planning, coordination, and design before construction can commence. Residents are encouraged to stay informed by signing up for project updates.
