The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) has temporarily halted recreational boating on the Fox River due to elevated water levels and debris.

Residents are encouraged to utilize the flood reporting system now available through the Office of Water Resources at IDNR. "Even if high water and flooding issues may seem obvious to those who live on the Chain and Fox River, IDNR needs this information so they can better prioritize projects to prevent future flooding and high water issues," stated an IDNR representative.

Three new reporting tools have been introduced for public use.
