Buffalo Grove Police arrest, cite suspects on weapons, possession charges

A report of a suspicious vehicle on Thornton Lane led to the arrest of two suspects by Buffalo Grove Police Department officers and the issuance of two citations for weapons and possession charges on December 6.

According to a Buffalo Grove Police Department news release, officers responded to a call regarding a suspicious vehicle in the 800 block of Thornton Lane at approximately 6:30 p.m. on December 4. Officers observed four individuals in the vehicle and detected a strong odor of cannabis. A search of the vehicle revealed a 9 mm Glock handgun, a magazine containing ten rounds, and a stun gun pen, along with improperly sealed cannabis and a 50ml bottle of alcohol.

The news release said that two female suspects were arrested. The driver, identified as Destiny Gaal, 19, from Manhattan Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon (misdemeanor) and issued a local ordinance citation for solicitation without a permit. A passenger, Marie Norfleet, 18, from Beachmeadow Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio, faced charges including two counts of felony aggravated unlawful use of a weapon without a firearms owner identification card or concealed carry license and possession of a firearm under 21 years of age. She also received local ordinance citations for soliciting without a permit, possession of alcohol by a minor, and possession of cannabis.

The Cook County State's Attorney's Office approved charges against Gaal and Norfleet. Gaal was scheduled to appear in Rolling Meadows Court House room 108 at 9 a.m. on December 9. Norfleet was set for an appearance at the same time in room 103. The Rolling Meadows Court House is located at 2121 Euclid Ave., Rolling Meadows.

According to the news release, the other occupants of the vehicle were Jackson D'Impperio, 20, and Eric Brown, 26, both from Ohio. They were issued local ordinance citations for soliciting without a permit. Brown also received an additional citation for possession of cannabis.
