FOIA Request to Round Lake Police Department Regarding Arrest Records from 2018 to Present on December 12, 2024.
In a bid to ensure transparency and accountability in public institutions, we at the Lake County Gazette have filed a request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) for arrest records spanning from January 1, 2018, up until the present day.
The specifics of our request include obtaining an electronic format list of all arrests made within this period. The information we seek includes the arrestee's name, date of arrest, gender, race, date of birth, and the crime committed.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. This action forms part of our commitment towards ensuring that public institutions remain accountable and transparent in their operations.
