City of North Chicago Judiciary Committee met Dec. 2

Alderman Jackson called the meeting to order.
ROLL CALL:
Present: Jackson, Coleman, Evans, Allen, Smith, January
Absent: Murphy
II. DISCUSSION/REVIEW OF ORDINANCE AMENDMENT TO 10-5-1; NO PARKING
PLACES:
Alderman Murphy returned after Roll Call at 7:29 p.m.
Per Chairman Jackson, removed until December 16, 2024.
I. DISCUSSION/REVIEW OF BROOKSTONE AT COLES PARK:
Attorney David Silverman stated same update as last meeting. They were focusing on the issue of the surety bond and crime issues; working with the attorney for the landlord and would update accordingly.
Alderman Allen questioned clarification of the court date. The Mayor replied was December 12, 2024.
III. DISCUSSION OF A RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE DEFENSE OF ALDERMAN
COLEMAN’S FELONY CASE:
Attorney Silverman explained that Alderman Coleman had a Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate himself. Alderman Coleman said that due to legal advice, he requested to postpone the discussion until February 3, 2025.
Alderman Allen moved, seconded by Alderman Evans that Judiciary Committee Meeting stand adjourned.
