A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to Zion Elementary School District 6 on January 13, 2025 by the Lake County Gazette. The request seeks to ascertain the number of non-U.S. citizens currently enrolled in the school district.
As representatives of the Lake County Gazette, we believe access to public records is essential for fulfilling our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we have requested a fee waiver as media professionals.
