NBJH Science Fair featured 48 students showcasing their research projects as part of the Independent Science Research class. Out of these participants, 38 students qualified to advance to the Illinois Junior Academy of Science regional competition scheduled for March 8 at Wheeling High School.
The fair represents the culmination of a semester-long course where students learn various aspects of scientific research, including the scientific method, sourcing appropriate materials, conducting and controlling experiments, and presenting findings in a comprehensive research paper supported by graphs, statistics, and visual evidence.
"We are incredibly grateful for our staff sponsors -- Mrs. Paull, Ms. Johnson, and Mr. Yoon," said an organizer. "We are also thankful for all of our volunteer judges who helped make the Fair possible. "
The event relied heavily on volunteer judges comprising staff members, family members, community residents, former staff and students, and college professors.
"Thank you to all for an amazing learning experience for our students," added another organizer.
