Gurnee residents seeking to reduce household waste and enhance their recycling skills can utilize the Recycle Coach app. This application assists in minimizing curbside waste, diverting materials from landfills, and ensuring proper disposal of items.

According to a Village of Gurnee news release, the web-based application simplifies understanding of waste and recycling services. It aids residents in identifying appropriate disposal methods and offers free educational tools for children of all ages.

The Village of Gurnee website states that Lakeshore Recycling Systems is the village's contractor for waste collection services, including garbage, recycling, and yard waste. It operates under a franchise hauling agreement. The village provides various disposal and recycling programs in collaboration with Lakeshore Recycling Systems and the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County. These programs encompass Styrofoam, electronics, clothing and textile recycling, household chemical waste, landscape or yard waste, leaf collection, Christmas tree collection, and a shoe recycling program.

Residents experiencing issues with garbage and recycling collection are advised by the Village website to contact Lakeshore Recycling Systems by calling 844-633-3577 or by logging into their account at www.lrsrecycles.com.
