The Village of Lindenhurst has introduced the Recycle Coach education app, designed to provide residents with convenient, up-to-date waste and recycling information. This user-friendly platform offers expert guidance on proper disposal while equipping residents with engaging tools to simplify waste management.

With Recycle Coach, finding the right way to dispose of thousands of household items—such as light bulbs, electronics, paint, household cleaners, and motor oil—has been made easier.

Key features for residents include:

- Personalized Collection Calendar: Stay on top of curbside pickup and local waste events.

- Timely Notifications: Receive reminders and real-time updates on service changes.

- "What Goes Where?" Search Tool: Learn proper disposal methods for common and uncommon items.

- Interactive Recycling Quizzes: Test your knowledge and pick up valuable tips.

- Report Issues with Ease: Use geolocation tools to notify customer service about missed collections or other concerns.

By using Recycle Coach, residents can take the guesswork out of recycling, make informed disposal decisions, and play a vital role in reducing household waste. The Village aims to improve recycling rates and minimize contamination in the local waste stream through this initiative.

Recycle Coach is a free app provided through a partnership with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) and Recycle Coach. Lindenhurst residents can get started by visiting the Village's garbage and recycling page and downloading the Recycle Coach app on their mobile devices.
