The City of Highland Park is collaborating with Robinson Engineering Ltd. to implement new State of Illinois requirements concerning lead service lines.

The initial phase of the project involves identifying and replacing lead service lines within a specified area. Residents in this area have received written notifications and invitations to an open house event. This gathering will feature a presentation outlining the program, posters displaying the project area, and a Q&A session with City staff and consulting engineers.

Impacted homeowners are those whose records indicate that part or all of their water service, constructed from lead or galvanized material, requires replacement under Public Act 102-0613. These residents have been notified by letter through the US Post Office. The City seeks participation to confirm if water service lines are made of lead and/or galvanized materials.
