Buffalo Grove firefighters responded to a fire at a townhome on Le Parc Circle, which rendered six townhomes uninhabitable. Firefighters were dispatched at 12:25 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, to 321 Le Parc Circle.

According to a Buffalo Grove Fire Department news release, firefighters responded to a report of smoke in a townhome unit. They arrived on the scene within minutes and discovered a fire on the second floor of one of the units. The alarm was upgraded twice for additional assistance.

The news release said that firefighters began an aggressive interior attack and checked other units, finding smoke and evidence that the fire had spread and was well advanced when crews arrived.

The fire was controlled within one hour, according to the news release. No occupants were found in the six townhome units; however, two cats were rescued alive. One firefighter sustained a minor injury.

All units were deemed uninhabitable, as said in the news release. The building department was notified, and damage is estimated at $950,000. Firefighters remained on the scene after 6 p.m. on Saturday. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
