Rep. Weber Highlights Need for Property Tax Relief

Today, I gave remarks at the Capitol and introduced two bills I filed included in our caucus’ new legislative bill package intended to provide property tax relief for families here in Illinois.
House Bill 4010 prevents taxing districts, other than home rule units, from levying taxes on parcels of real property more than 105% of the base amount unless conditions are met.
House Bill 4011 limits assessment increases to 3% or CPI, whichever is less.
Both of these bills are designed to reduce the burden placed on the hardwork- ing men and women who serve as the backbone of our state. We have to act bold- ly, and we have to act now!
