In Mrs. Welch’s high school biology classes, students have been exploring evolution and natural selection, the driving force behind it. The challenge of a recent lab was for students to create their own learning game centered on the main concepts of natural selection, termed “Survival of the Fittest.”
Students had one class period to utilize their prior knowledge and design their own game. Each group then played their game, collected data, and made necessary changes. Mrs. Welch remarked that the groups developed very creative ideas while successfully reinforcing what they had learned in class.
