Last week, Rep. Weber joined homeschool families in expressing opposition to HB 2827, known as the Homeschool Act, which he said would impose undue burdens on homeschool families in Illinois.

Rep. Weber engaged with attendees to discuss the potential negative impacts of HB 2827. He said many participants, including one family he spoke with, viewed the legislation as "an act of government overreach" that would add uncertainty for homeschool administrators.

"These administrators and their students should not face more scrutiny for learning in a way that works best for them," Rep. Weber said.

He thanked those who attended to oppose the Homeschool Act, emphasizing that although the bill had passed out of committee, there remained work to be done.
