Lynn Baca Adams County Commissioners | Adams County
Just before spring break, Adams County Commissioners Lynn Baca and Kathy Henson toured the Ranum Innovation Campus, gaining firsthand insight into its offerings.
Superintendent Jeni Gotto and Ryan McCoy, Chief of Advancement and Strategic Partnerships, provided an overview of the campus before leading the commissioners on a walking tour. During their visit, they observed students at work and spoke with faculty members who are introducing students to 21st- century skills and preparing them for life after graduation.
Phase one of the campus opened in August with pathways in Aviation Engineering, Biotechnology, and Cyber Technology. Each pathway at the Ranum Innovation Campus offers stackable industry credentials and college credits. Students from both Westminster High School and Hidden Lake Secondary School are enrolled in classes on campus while taking their other core and elective classes at their home schools.
Baca and Henson expressed interest in helping Westminster Public Schools expand its partnerships with local governments and businesses, aiming to find new connections to benefit both students and residents of Adams County.
The commissioners were also pleased to learn that long-term plans include expanded learning opportunities for adults in the community.
