Lake Forest School District 67 has announced the opening of kindergarten registration for the 2025-26 school year. The announcement was made via a Facebook post on April 2, 2025.

According to Lake Forest Schools, parents and guardians wishing to enroll their child in the district must first complete an online pre-registration process. New families or those unfamiliar with Powerschool Registration will need to create an online account before beginning. Pre-registration is required for each student and is open to all legal residents within the school boundaries of Lake Forest School District 67.

Following pre-registration, parents are required to verify residency and enrollment by submitting necessary documentation. The district provides instructions and a list of required documents for both kindergarten and grades 1-8. This step is essential before Lake Forest Schools can approve the pre-registration. Families with questions about the process can contact Natalia Martinez for assistance.

In May, families who have completed pre-registration and residency verification will receive a personalized SnapCode to finalize registration and pay any applicable school fees. The district offers fee waivers for eligible families. For early childhood students, a non-refundable $500 deposit is needed to secure a spot in the Community of Learners program. Multilingual preschool videos are available to help families understand the registration process, according to Lake Forest Schools.

Lake Forest Elementary School District 67 serves approximately 1,600 students from Pre-K through grade 8. The district comprises three elementary schools—Cherokee Elementary (K-4), Everett Elementary (K-4), and Sheridan Elementary (Pre-K-4)—as well as Deer Path Middle School (5-8). Known for its innovative instructional practices, District 67 emphasizes inclusive education and personalized learning experiences that support academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development. The district’s mission is to inspire and empower students to maximize growth and cultivate respect for others in a dynamic, safe learning environment.
