Round Lake Area Park District receives grant for bird habitat project

The Round Lake Area Park District has received a Birdscape Grant of $2,500 from the Lake County Audubon Society (LCAS) to create a native habitat planting at Long Lake Park. The initiative aims to support local and migratory birds, pollinators, and other wildlife by establishing a landscape filled with native trees, shrubs, and plants.

Project Highlights:

- Native species will be planted to provide food, cover, and nesting habitats.

- The plantings will support biodiversity and improve the ecological health of the area.

- Planting is scheduled for Fall 2025.
