On Saturday, May 17, the City of Highwood and the Highwood Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of two new businesses: Tattoo Art Collective and Electric Collective Hair Lab. These establishments were founded by Orlando Camacho and Amanda Diambri, respectively. They opened their doors with community support.
Upon learning that their businesses would be located across the street from each other, Orlando and Amanda decided to collaborate. They held a joint ribbon-cutting ceremony on Highwood Avenue, combining their creative energy and overlapping clientele.
The event attracted a crowd that included Mayor Charlie Pecaro, City Council Members Robyn Bauer and Krista Hanson, Chamber Board President George Zamarron, Executive Director Jennifur Condon, and Board Member TJ Alexander.
"These innovative entrepreneurs are a welcome addition to Highwood," said one attendee. "They bring bold ideas and creative momentum to the city’s growing business landscape."
