Celebrate International Compost Awareness Week with the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) from May 4-10, 2025. This year’s theme, "Sustainable Communities Begin with Compost," is inspired by the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. There will be over 30 events happening around Lake County, including farm festivals, vineyard tours, garden tastings, composting demos, and more. This week will go beyond composting, addressing issues like waste food, soil health, climate, waste diversion and reduction, hunger, and more.
