City of Highwood City Council met May 6

CALL TO ORDER by Mayor Pecaro at 7:30 P.M.
1. Roll Call
Present: Aldermen Falberg, Fiore, Levi, Peterson, Hospodarsky and Slavin
Absent: None
Also Present: City Manager Coren and City Attorney Jablecki

All present recited the Pledge of Allegiance

4. Appointments
Judge Sharmila Manak administered the oath of office to Charles Pecaro for Mayor and Krista Hanson, Robyn Bauer and George Markoutsas. Eric Falberg, James Hospodarsky and James Levi left the dias.
5. Mayors Report
The Mayor read aloud Proclamations honoring outgoing aldermen Eric Falberg, James Hospodarsky and James Levi.
The Mayor issued a proclamation celebrating LGBTQI+ Pride Month in June 2025.
6. Review of Minutes to be Approved
6.1. Moved by Alderman Hanson and seconded by Alderman Bauer to approve the minutes of the City Council: April 2, 2025. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.
6.2. Moved by Alderman Slavin and seconded by Alderman Peterson to approve the minutes for Committee of the Whole: April 2, 2025. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.
7. Appointments
James Hospodarsky was approved as the City of Highwood representative to the North Suburban Special Recreation Association.
8. Review of the Bill Warrant List Moved by Alderman Peterson and seconded by
Alderman Slavin to approve the minutes for Committee of the Whole: April 2, 2025. All present voting aye, by roll call vote, motion carried.

10.1 Moved by Alderman Peterson and seconded by Alderman Slavin to approve an engagement letter for McConnell Jones to conduct the City’s FYE 2024 audit. All present voting aye, by roll call vote, motion carried.
10.2 Moved by Alderman Peterson and seconded by Alderman Bauer to authorize the Mayor to sign an agreement with Scott Core to approve him as the City Manager. All present voting aye, by role call vote, motion carried.
11. Executive Session
There was no executive session necessary.
12. Any Action Necessary Coming Out of Executive Session
13. Adjournment moved by Alderman Slavin and seconded by Alderman Peterson to adjourn the meeting. All present voting aye, by voice vote, motion carried.
Mayor Pecaro adjourned the meeting at 7:37 P.M.
