The Village of Lindenhurst has announced the opening of applications for the 2025 Citizens’ Academy. This interactive program is designed to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of how various village departments operate.

The academy will run for eight weeks from September to November, with sessions scheduled on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions, tour village facilities, and partake in hands-on activities involving the Police, Public Works, and Administration departments.

Spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis following a background check. Interested individuals can learn more and apply at www.lindenhurstil.org/citizensacademy.

The program aims to foster a better understanding of local government operations among residents through direct interaction and practical exposure.
