Collinsville CUSD #10 Board to meet August 18; vocational center budget hearing planned

The Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, August 18. The meeting is scheduled to take place at the Administrative Annex, located at 123 W. Clay Street. A brief public hearing regarding the Collinsville Area Vocational Center budget will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the start of the main meeting.

Collinsville Community Unit School District 10 serves both Madison and St. Clair counties, representing several schools in the area such as Caseyville Elementary School, Collinsville High School, Collinsville Middle School, Dorris Intermediate School, Jefferson Elementary School, John A. Renfro Elementary School, Kreitner Elementary School, Maryville Elementary School, Summit Elementary School, Twin Echo Elementary School, and Webster Elementary School (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).

According to data from the Illinois State Board of Education, there are 418 teachers in the district with an average salary of $60,392 before pension contributions; 81 percent are women and 19 percent are men. The report also notes that none of these teachers have more than ten absences during a school year (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).

Demographically, the district’s student body is composed of approximately 56 percent White students, 14.1 percent Black students, 24.1 percent Hispanic students, and 0.5 percent Asian students (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). In terms of spending, the district allocated $16,872 per student in 2020 for a total expenditure of $104 million (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).
