United Township High School District 30 has announced several updates for students as the new school year begins. The daily lunch menu includes options such as sloppy joe on a whole grain bun, chicken nuggets with garlic bread, oven-baked sweet potato fries, mixed green salad, apricots, and a mixed berry fruit cup.
Students interested in attending a musical event at the Adler Theatre in Davenport, Iowa, on November 8 can obtain free tickets by contacting Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor. Additionally, volunteer opportunities are available with the Quad Cities Rowing Club for its 'Sprint the Miss Regatta' on September 19 and 20. Students can see Mr. Davis for more information about specific duties.
Several student clubs have announced their first meetings of the year. Latinos Unidos will meet after school on August 20 in room 256N; questions can be directed to Mrs. Cantu. Gamer's Club is scheduled to meet Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. in room 149N. Student Council will convene Friday morning at 7:30 a.m. in room 109S.
The Interact Club’s first meeting is set for Wednesday, August 27 at 7:30 a.m., in Room 119C; this club focuses on volunteering and community service opportunities.
For students interested in joining the LGBT+ Club or learning more about it, the first meeting will take place Tuesday, August 26 right after school in Miss Williams’ room (125E). The club welcomes members of the LGBT+ community as well as allies and those seeking involvement.
