Students at Coal City High School are participating in photography projects that do not use traditional cameras. Art teacher Mrs. Brus has introduced her students to photograms and cyanotypes.
Cyanotypes involve creating blue-toned images by placing objects on sensitized paper, exposing it to UV light, and then rinsing the paper. Photograms are made by arranging objects on light-sensitive paper and exposing them to light, resulting in images without the use of a camera.
