City of Highwood Committee of the Whole met Aug. 5

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

CALL TO ORDER By Mayor Pecaro at 6:04 PM

1. Roll Call

Present: Alderman Bauer, Hanson, Fiore, Peterson, Markoutsas

Absent: Alderman Slavin

Also present: City Manager Coren, Assistant City Manager Facchini and Attorney Jablecki.

2. Public Hearing

3. Review of Minutes to be Approved

3.1. Committee of the Whole: July 15, 2025

The minutes will be approved at the City Council Meeting

4. Appointments

5. Review of Bill Warrant List

5.1. 08/05/2025 AP Warrant List

The AP Warrant List will be approved at the City Council Meeting

6. Unfinished Business

7. New Business

7.1. Consideration of an Ordinance Authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to Execute a Real Estate Contract for the Purchase of 412 – 416 Sheridan Road.

This will be approved at the City Council meeting.

7.2. Consideration of an Ordinance prohibiting the use of Groundwater as a potable water supply by the installation or use of potable water supply wells or by any other method within a certain area designated in the City of Highwood.

This item will be approved at the City Council meeting.

7.3. Consideration of updated light fixtures at the Western Avenue Ballpark.

This item will be discussed further at a future City Council meeting.

8. Executive Session (If Necessary)

Motion made by Alderman Fiore and seconded by Alderman Markoutsas to enter Executive Session at 6:50 PM. All present voting aye by voice vote, the motion carried.

Motion made by Alderman Fiore and seconded by Alderman Bauer to reconvene the Committee of the Whole meeting at 7:15 PM, all present voting aye by voice vote. The motion carried.

9. Any Action Necessary Coming Out of Executive Session

Motion made by Alderman Markoutsas and seconded by Alderman Fiore to adjourn the Committee of the Whole Meeting. All present voting aye by voice vote, the motion carried, and the meeting was adjourned at 7:29 PM.
