Mrs. Strunga’s first grade class at Coal City Community Unit School District 1 recently participated in a creative reading project based on the Superkids curriculum. After spending the week reading about Oswald’s Odd Pet Rock, students designed their own pet rocks. Each student named their rock, created dialogue for it, and described its abilities. The activity included drawing a blueprint before painting the final pet rock.
Mrs. Strunga said, “students had an amazing time designing and creating.”
