While some of our Leatherneck friends might be struggling a bit after their birthday celebration last evening, hopefully they are all out and about as we assemble today to say "Thank You" to all the Veterans who have come forward over the years to answer the calls to take care of our great nation.

A few months back, we thought we had an exit plan to get the rest of our troops out of Afghanistan.. Now we see how fragile it was. There is chaos in Kabul and we've had to send troops back in to rescue those we should have helped to evacuate the country long ago.

The impact from the fall of Afghanistan

The fall of Afghanistan has created chaos not only in Southwest Asia and the Middle East, but also here at home. It has affected many of our veterans in the same way as the fall of Vietnam affected our Vietnam veterans 46 years ago.
