The Grayslake Heritage Center and Museum will open a new exhibit on Nov. 27 intended to connect the community with local non-profits and community groups.
The Grayslake Giving Trees will showcase a collection of Christmas trees, each decorated by a different organization with items that communicate the respective group's mission or message.
Museum-goers are asked to vote for their favorite tree by giving a donation to that organization by Dec. 30. The organization that gets the most votes will keep all of the donations made to its organization. Exhibit entry fee proceeds will be split between the participating groups and the Grayslake Historical Society.
The Grayslake Heritage Center and Museum is a local history museum offering exhibitions, a classroom, a community room and archival storage.
The official exhibit opening will run from 5 to 8 p.m. The museum is at 164 Hawley St. in Grayslake.
