Candidates running for office in Lake County in 2016 can submit their official petition papers at the County Clerk's office beginning at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
There are several positions open in the next election cycle for nomination and for election.
Positions filled by nomination include circuit clerk, coroner, recorder, state’s attorney and county board member for Districts 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20 and 21.
Positions filled by election include Precinct Committeeman for all precincts, the City of Lake Forest Alderman for all wards and North Shore Water Reclamation District Trustee for Wards 1, 2 and 4.
Candidates are advised to consult the filling and nominating procedures found on www.elections.il.gov.
Potential candidates have been allowed to seek petition signatures since Sept 1. The final deadline for submitting petition paperwork is Monday, Nov. 30.
