The village of Lindenhurst held its regular meeting Nov. 9.
Village Administrator Matt Formica alerted the board that Wendy's has asked that money raised through its fundraiser event go to the Lake Village Township Food Pantry instead of to the family of a deceased Fox Lake police officer.
Formica also mentioned that landscape waste stickers are in short supply at Walgreens and Butera. Village Hall will begin carrying the stickers in the spring.
The board then approved its 2015 tax levy amount of $1,172,587 and made arrangements to have the levy officially prepared.
The board also unanimously approved a resolution urging the state to release the non-general fund revenues it owes to local communities. Several Illinois communities have passed similar resolutions as the state continues withholding a number of payments to towns and villages while it waits to sort out its budget impasse.
Public Works Supervisor Charles Hernandez updated the board on the village's water main project. Hernandez said that 56 percent of new pipe has been laid and 65 percent of the total connections have been completed. He thanked residents for their continued patience as the village continues to work on all five project parcels.
