The Lindenhurst Village Board held its regular meeting Oct. 12.
The village approved a budget amendment for $9,402 for the services of the Northeastern Illinois Regional Crime (NIRC) Lab. The village had originally backed out of its agreement with the regional lab because it wasn't using the service often enough and could count on the state's lab for evidence testing.
With the state lab backed up, though, local police have had to wait for evidence testing, pushing the village to reopen its relationship with NIRC.
The board also approved an easement allowing water and sewer lines for Zegler Nissan to run through a private property on US-45 and proclaimed October 2015 Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
