Marking January as Crime Stoppers Month is among the items of business when the six-member Grayslake Village Board gathers for its next meeting at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at 10 South Seymour Avenue.
Directly following roll call, the board will accept public comment on all items included on the meeting agenda.
The board will review and approve minutes of two Dec. 15, 2015, meetings: one regular meeting and one executive session as well as render approval for the treasurer’s reports and bill payments from Jan. 5 and Jan. 19.
If all agree, January 2016 will be proclaimed “Lake County Crime Stoppers Month” for the village of Grayslake, after which the board will consider approval of an updated watershed development ordinance, including flood zone maps. The village is obligated to approve the ordinance in order to continue as a certified community with the Stormwater Management Commission.
Next, the board will consider approval for a temporary easement along Washington Street west of Lake Street in order to handle traffic during a period of railroad underpass construction.
Discussion of water reservoir pump replacements will follow. Currently, two pumps are in need of upgrading, and the project is already included in the current fiscal year budget. Because the village sought competitive bids and only one was offered, the board was forced to reject the single bid.
After village engineers re-issued RFPs, three responses resulted, allowing the board to waive further bids and to select the lowest bid after consideration.
The floor will open for a public comment session on items of general interest, and after trustee reports and the mayor’s report, the meeting will adjourn.
