Highwood police patch

To consider ordinances, one-way streets, police purchases and liquor codes, Highwood’s Committee of the Whole will meet at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at City Council Chambers, 17 Highwood Ave.

No public hearing is scheduled at this meeting. Following roll call, meetings from April 8, May 5, June 2 and June 16, 2015, in addition to Jan. 19 and a Committee of the Whole meeting Jan. 19, 2016, will be approved.

Mayor Charlie Pecaro will announce appointments, after which a Bill Warrant list will be reviewed along with unfinished business.

In new business, five requests for consideration and three discussions are on the agenda, including considerations for three ordinances and two motions. Requested ordinances consist of one variation from the Highwood Appearance Code, salary and compensation for the city of Highwood for FY 2016 and borrowing funds from the Public Water Supply Loan program.

Two motions include approval for a standard purchasing policy for the city and authorization for the purchase of cameras for police vehicles, not to exceed $19,500, from Martel Electronics Inc.

The three discussions will center on one-way restrictions along Clay and Lakeview Avenues; revising the existing Highwood liquor code and the FY 2017 Draft Budget.

If necessary, the council will move to Executive Session, followed by adjournment.
