Not only is 26th District Senate GOP candidate Dan McConchie leading the polls across all demographics by 10 points, according to a new We Ask America poll conducted on Feb. 16, but he also has received five new endorsements from conservative lawmakers eager to have him on their team, which brings the total number of endorsements by conservative legislators to 14.

State House Reps. Randy Frese, Sheri Jesiel, Margo McDermed, Grant Wehril and Keith Wheeler are the latest to come out in support of McConchie, who expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support in an article posted on his website.

“The overwhelming support across the 26th Senate District and from our conservative state leaders is humbling,” McConchie said. “It is clear that my lifelong conservative values, 20-year record of conservative policy solutions, and vision for a new Illinois is connecting both with voters and those leaders who are going to be part of the solution to get our state back on track.”

McConchie is running against Casey Urlacher and Martin McLaughlin to succeed Republican Sen. Dan Duffy, who is limiting himself to two terms. Duffy also has endorsed McConchie.

If elected, the former Army National Guard member hopes to reduce government spending across the board, remove unfunded mandates and onerous state procurement rules on local governments that help drive up local property taxes, protect the state’s transportation funds and continue to support the move to expand education vouchers.
