From a humble background to his present-day status as a veteran and businessman, Mike Amrozowicz is “campaigning, not complaining” to resolve Illinois’ critical needs by running for Senate District 31 as a Republican.

Amrozowicz, who served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, chose to settle in Lake County, raising a family and running his own business.

Having observed what he perceives as political mismanagement, Amrozowicz chose to “stop complaining and become part of the solution,” spearheading his campaign for a Senate seat.

With the assertion that “we can fix what is wrong with Illinois with what is right with Illinois,” Amrozowicz pointed out the state’s many inherent advantages: its location as a transportation hub; quality farmland, schools, culture and recreation; and strong commercial activity and a skilled workforce.

“We have a state with these unmatched resources, which is in a financial mess due to decades of unbelievable government mismanagement,” he said. “We can turn our state around by cutting waste and spending, roll back taxes and regulations and stop exporting jobs to other states.”

Amrozowicz outlined his position on fiscal responsibility, tax reform, job creation and maintenance, noting Illinois’ rank of second highest in “taxpayer burden” nationwide, as assessed by the nonprofit organization Truth in Accounting.

“We need to trim spending and get our financial house in order,” he said. “Businesses are not a source of endless revenue to be taxed and squandered by Springfield. Businesses create opportunities for hardworking citizens to provide for themselves and their families.”

Amrozowicz hopes voters will turn out to select him as a legislator in the Republican Primary Election on March 15.
