Wauconda resident Rod Drobinski, running for the 62nd Legislative District seat in the Illinois House of Representatives, is focused on tackling the state's fiscal state of affairs, health care, justice and taxes.

“I take pride in serving as a career prosecutor,” Drobinski said. “I will bring the sensibilities of a justice focused prosecutor to the House chambers.”

Citing the state’s 67 percent income tax increase as well as inconsistencies in Illinois law enforcement and judicial arenas, Drobinski pledged to upgrade tools and resources for police. He also emphasized the need for Lake County to level its playing field regarding access to health care, stating that half of the geographical area lacks local hospital facilities due to bureaucratic inefficiency.

“My decision to run for this office is rooted in my upbringing,” Drobinski said. “As the eldest son of immigrants, I learned that providing a better life for future generations must always be one of our greatest priorities… . But when I look at the decisions by our state government, I don’t see a focus on my children or my neighbors’ children.”

Known to residents as Lake County assistant state’s attorney for more than 10 years, Drobinski currently serves in the office’s gang and narcotics division, maintaining additional civic activity by serving on the Wauconda Police Commission and the Fremont Library Board. He is an alumnus of the University of Notre Dame and Georgetown University.
