All “ayes” were issued for a proclamation to declare Jan. 2016 as Lake County Crime Stoppers Month in Grayslake during the village board’s 7 p.m. Jan. 19 meeting at 10 South Seymour Ave.
With the motion made by Kevin Waldenstrom and seconded by Bruce Bassett, the suggestion carried immediately.
The trustees approved a temporary easement to Lake County Department of Transportation (LCDOT) during the construction of an underpass along Washington Street along with a regulation adopting the amended Lake County Watershed Development Ordinance.
The board also opted to accept the lowest bid received for water reservoir pump replacements, submitted by Grundfos Inc. Shawn Vogel made a motion, seconded by Bassett, to waive the formal bid process and authorize the execution of a contract in an amount not to exceed $83,744.
Elizabeth Davies announced that she attended the Lake County Chamber of Commerce State of the County, where one of the meeting programs featured an advertisement from the Grayslake Business Partnership.
Mayor Rhett Taylor thanked Bassett for presiding over two village board meetings. He noted that a response was received from State Representative Sam Yingling regarding the recently passed Resolution 853, asking state government to resolve the budget crisis and release funds for municipalities and school districts.
Additionally, Mayor Taylor invited all to attend the upcoming State of the Village presented to Grayslake’s Chamber of Commerce at 12 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Carillon North Clubhouse.
