The Lake Forest City Council will issue a formal resolution of sympathy following the recent passing of former Alderman Harry Chandler at the  City Council at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Chandler was a distinguished lifelong Lake Forest resident, graduate of Yale and Harvard universities, U.S. Navy veteran and businessman. He was deeply committed to preserving natural resources, open space and historic architecture.

In the community spotlight, Joe Pulio has been hired as Lake Forest High School’s business education teacher.

The Public Works Committee will request approval of a policy requiring stormwater management to follow Lake County’s Watershed Development Ordinance and will request approval to participate in a county-level bidding process designed to purchase rock salt and store it in a salt bay.

Items scheduled for an omnibus vote include a tentative wage agreement with the local metropolitan police chapter and a resolution opposing any attempt by the state to reduce, withhold, or redirect municipal revenues. Council members also will address a resolution to enter a credit card services agreement, a vendor contract to purchase hardware and firewalls and recommendations from the building review board concerning three properties.

The council will assess expenses related to security fencing at a former municipal services site during a soil removal procedure, as the original approved fencing suffered wind damage.

Members plan to award a bid to D'Land Construction LLC for concrete pavement patching work in Lake Forest and approve Peter Baker & Son for resurfacing, asphalt patching and pothole repair.

New business scheduled to be discussed includes an update on the East Train Station renovation and Telegraph Metra Station pedestrian underpass projects.
