Registered voters, including those who qualify for a grace period after having completed their early registration, in Lake County may vote at polling places statewide in the March 15 general primary election.
The grace period applies to citizens who have changed their names or addresses prior to registering; those individuals may register at the Highland Park Police Station at 1677 Old Deerfield Road between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Early voting is accessible through the end of March 14 for those choosing to vote prior to the 15th, providing that each voter provides valid government-issued photo identification. All county residents should have received a postcard denoting the locations for early voting and regular Election Day voting.
To confirm early voting sites, visit www.LakeVoterPower.info or call 847-377-2410.
Voting by mail is also an option as long as the paperwork is sent by noon March 10, and an online voter resource is available to all by visiting www.LakeVoterPower.info to confirm registration status and to view personalized election information.
The site offers a sample ballot, tracking of mailed materials if applicable, locations with driving directions and visuals and lists of new districts and elected officials with contact information.
