Congressman Bob Dold (R-IL) and Lake County State's Attorney Michael Nerheim will join the Village of Mundelein and others sponsoring a forum designed to deter domestic abuse at 6 p.m. March 30 at Mundelein’s Police Department.
The importance of protecting loved ones will be front and center at “Zero Tolerance for Domestic Abusers,” an event open to the public and co-sponsored by A Safe Place of Zion, Illinois, the Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center of Gurnee and Stepping Stones of Lake County.
“Let’s work together to create a healthier and safer community for our wives, daughters and friends,” event sponsors said.
Both professionals in the field of domestic violence and community members who are survivors of this trauma will share their perspectives in order to help citizens grasp the seriousness of these crimes, often invisible to society. Several service agencies will be in attendance offering availability to schedule confidential appointments for any residents.
The Mundelein Police Station is located at 221 N. Lake St.
“Our vision is to create an engaged and compassionate community where sexual exploitation is not tolerated, human rights and dignity are valued, and the lives of both victims and perpetrators are being restored…,” Stepping Stones stated on its website.
